My Donate has closed
We would like to say an enormous thank you to everyone who has contributed to A.P.P.L.E. through My Donate over the years. Unfortunately BT has closed it down with effect from 30th June 2019 and we can no longer receive funds this way.
But you can still help through our new PayPal Giving Fund profile page.
And you can still help us for free every time you shop online through Easyfundraising
February Half Term
The whole week was very wet! We all crammed in the building and cooked mushroom pasta, carrot and coriander soup, apple crumble tarts, and chocolate cakes. We made owl cushions, kites, papier mache animals. We built a planter and gardened (in the rain) Played board games and quizzes. A group went to the Tideway construction site where they are building a massive tunnel underneath the Thames.
Thank you to Tideway for the trip.
We will be closed Saturday 22nd.
Open on Tuesday 25th for after school drop-in session.
Saturday making at the ARTBLOCK
Sloth cushions - a big favourite.
A.P.P.L.E.'s Ecobrick project is up and running.
The children and young people have stuffed bottles with non recyclable plastic to build ecobrick walls to make planters with.
The planters will be used to grow butterfly, bee and insect friendly plants.
We have finished the first planter. This half term the children and young people have put it into the park, filled it with soil and planted with it foxgloves, buddleia and lavender.
Our MP, Rupa Huq, visited A.P.P.L.E on Tuesday August 6th.
“I was delighted to visit APPLE who do so much for young people in Acton and have done so for many years on many front: encouraging sociability, camaraderie, physical fitness, creative arts and culinary skills. With 400,000 Londoners living in food insecurity they are also doing lots to combat holiday hunger as every kid attending will leave with wholesome, nutritious fresh food in them. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to any funder as a worthy cause that turns no child away.”
