Being inspired by yayoi kusama

is a Japanese contemporary artist, she is 91 years old and still makes art today. Her work is very dotty! She started by creating canvas paintings of dots but she found the dots took over and she often ended up drawing past the canvas and onto the walls. She fills rooms with dots. Covers trees in dots, creates dotty sculptures and uses light to make dots!

Have a look at some of her work then have a go at creating a piece inspired by Yayoi Kusama.

Maybe you could decorate your fish from our art activity this week in dots. Maybe you could make your own model of a room and fill it with dots. Find a plant or piece of food you could dot.

Have a go, go dotty!
